The Albany boys basketball team got off to a slow start and couldn't recover in a 44-34 loss to Faith Christian Saturday night.
Faith Christian outscored the Comets 11-3 in the first quarter. The Comets trailed 21-9 at halftime.
Albany junior Boomer Detra scored a team-high 10 points to lead the Comets. Junior Joshua Krueger scored six points.
Albany (2-5, 1-2 Six Rivers East shot 8 of 15 from the free throw line.
The Comets will wrap up a stretch of four games in nine days when they play at Johnson Creek Tuesday.
