ALBANY - The Comets couldn't survive a second-half slump in which they scored a combined 16 points in the third and fourth quarters, falling in overtime to the Belmont Braves, 55-50 in non-conference action Tuesday.
At the end of regulation, the score was tied 43-43, but the Braves took control of the overtime period with a 12-7 advantage for the win.
Senior Hillary Best scored 15 points to lead the Comets.
Albany (6-3, 1-1 Six River East) also got 14 points from sophomore Cassidy Bump.
The Comets' next game is Dec. 30 at Benton.
