MADISON - Brodhead senior Jake Cole shot an 11-over-83 in the first round of the WIAA Division 2 state golf tournament at University Ridge Monday.
Cole is in a five-way tie for 33rd place after Monday's first round. Cole is 14 shots behind co-leaders including Platteville's Josh Udelhofen and Osceola's Charlie Danielson who each shot 3-under 69 on the first day of state.
