MONROE - The 2012 Monroe Basketball Alumni Tournament was held Saturday, Nov. 24, as a fun, homecoming event for former student athletes of Monroe High School.

Twelve teams participated including MHS graduates from the "80s thru the class of 2012, including about 120 former players and students. This year's champion was the 2007-08 class. The alumni basketball tournament is also a fundraiser for the MHS boy's basketball program. Coach Pat Murphy said, "I am grateful for the community support of the tournament, Jeff Conway and Old Smokey's the prime sponsor, and all the young men that participate annually."

He added, "The alumni tourney is a strong link to the program and supports the theme that, "Tradition Never Graduates".
