MONROE - The postseason honors keep rolling in for the Monroe softball team.
Seven Monroe softball players received Southern Badger All-Conference honors. The Cheesemakers had three first team all-conference players including seniors Meghan Roberts, pitcher; Emily Rufenacht, infield and Maggie Schuttler, outfield.
Roberts posted an 18-7 record in her first season pitching as the Cheesemakers' ace on the varsity. She compiled a 1.86 ERA to go along with 151 strikeouts. She tossed six shutouts and one no-hitter against Madison Edgewood.
Rufenacht hit .398 and had 20 RBI to go along with seven stolen bases.
Schuttler hit .400 and had three home runs and 23 RBI. She sparked the Cheesemakers' offense with two home runs in a 12-4 win over Madison Edgewood to snap a three-game losing strak.
Monroe enters the WIAA Division 2 state semifinal against Port Washington at 6 tonight with a nine-game winning streak.
Monroe junior catcher Paisley Bennett and second baseman Brandi Trewartha each received second team all-conference recognition.
Monroe senior Coree Lee and sophomore Kelsey Erickson recived honorable mention all-conference.
