Cheesemakers set 25 PRs at Fort

FORT ATKINSON - Competition brings out the best in the Monroe girls swimming team.

Monroe set 25 personal records in a 94-65 dual meet loss to Fort Atkinson Tuesday night.

"That is exciting to see," Monroe coach Linda Moser said of the PRs.

Senior Rachel Root finished first in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2 minutes, 13.97 seconds, which is a PR. Root also took first in the 100 backstroke (1:00.59).

The 200 medley relay team of Angie Beaver, Root, Sarah Kind, and Briana Katzenberger took second with a time of 2:05.29. The quartet also finished second in the 400 relay (4:06.09).

Beaver finished third in the 100 back with a PR time of 1:12.73 and fourth in the 100 free with a PR time of 1:03.34. Katzenberger took third in the 200 free with a PR time of 2:23.12.

Monica Sefcik finished third in the 500 free with a time of 6:40.1. The 200 freestyle relay team of Anika Nelson, Mackenzie Hesgard, Corlissa Robertson and Sefcik took third with a time of 2:08.09 and Haley Kaiser also had a PR in the 100 butterfly (1:24.30).
