MONROE - The Monroe boys tennis team remained unbeaten in dual matches escaping with a 4-3 win over Badger South rival Monona Grove on Tuesday.
The Cheesemakers swept all three doubles matches. Seniors Artem Beer and Jim Kundert at No. 1 doubles defeated their opponents in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.
Pat Gellings and Garrett Tschanz posted a 6-0, 6-1 win. At No. 3 doubles, Mark Hoesly and Dan Becker won their match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2.
Matt Le at No. 3 singles defeated his opponent, 6-4, 6-4.
The Silver Eagles won three of the four singles matches. Monroe senior Lauri Juonela lost his No. 1 singles match, 6-2, 6-0.
Monroe sophomore Carson Root lost at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-2. Eric Knudtson lost a three set match, 2-6, 7-6, 7-5.
