MONROE - The Monroe girls tennis team continued its hot play by knocking off Monona Grove 5-2 on Thursday.

The Cheesemakers dominated doubles play, winning all three matches.

Monroe senior Brooke McBain and sophomore Ellie Grossen defeated Monona Grove's tandem 6-4, 6-1. At No. 2 doubles, Monroe's Ashley Segner and Chandra McGuire defeated their Silver Eagle counterparts 6-3, 6-4. Allie Coplien and Erin Gellings won their match at No. 3 doubles 6-1, 6-3.

Monroe senior Ellie Shuda, at No. 1 singles, beat her counterpart 6-3, 6-0. At No. 2 singles, Monroe senior Lily Priewe won 6-1, 6-3. Erica Hegi, at No. 3 singles, lost 6-3, 6-1 and Macayla Quinn lost No. 4 singles 7-5, 6-3.

Monroe will play its last Badger South dual match on Monday at Milton.
