MONROE - The Monroe boys golf team finished tied for fourth Saturday in its own eight-team Best Ball Tournament with a score of 231.
McFarland, the winner, shot a 223. Milton took second with a 225 and Monona Grove was third with a 229. Oregon tied Monroe. Verona (234), Fort Atkinson (245) and Brodhead (278) also attended the meet.
Monroe's top pair of Brandon Wilson and Aaron Krattiger shot a combined 72 on the par-70 course at The Monroe Country Club. Mitch McArdle and Garrett Voegeli shot a 73 and Kyle Bruce and Lucas Jordan carded an 86.
McFarland's Aaron Dixon and Blake McShane shot a 71, as did Oregon's Ben King and Mike Amend.
Brodhead's Jake Cole and Kurtis Johnson shot a 77. Josh Johnson and Brett Heitzman shot a 92 and Derrick Pankauskas and Micah Wallace carded a 109 for the Cardinals.
The course was a bit soggy after rains from the days before and players also had to deal with cool temperatures and a steady breeze.
