Cheese end season on a high note, win 11-0

MONROE - The Cheesemakers capped the regular season with a bang, knocking off Wisconsin Dells 11-0 in a Badger Conference Challenge game at Honey Creek Park Thursday.

Nine different players scored against the Chiefs (0-13), including Monroe's usual goalkeeper - senior Kramer Henning.

Kelli Isaj opened the game with back-to-back goals for Monroe (8-12-3 overall). Mitch Marty and Corey Flannery made it 4-0 15 minutes into the game. Not long after Isaj capped a hat trick with his third goal.

Jens Wohlbier, Sam Keizer, Luke Newcomer, Dan Chapman and Dalton Curtiss also scored for Monroe.

"It was more like a warm-up for Tuesday," Monroe head coach Tony Stamm said. "I hope we can use this as a jump start."

The Cheesemakers travel to Platteville/Lancaster Tuesday for the first round of the WIAA Division 2 playoffs.
