BELOIT - Brodhead-Juda's girls team finished sixth overall at the Rock Valley Conference Meet Saturday. The boys took eighth.

Senior Shannon Klein was second in both the 200- and the 400-meter dashes. Klein's mark of 26.73 seconds in the 200 was nearly 1.1 seconds behind champion Laura Popanz of Clinton. Jefferson's Amanda Brom edged Klein in the 400 by .18 seconds (1:00.19-1:00.37).

Junior Heather Clankie was second in the discus with a throw of 119 feet, 11 inches.

McFarland won the meet, with East Troy and Whitewater taking second and third.

On the boys side, junior Levi Frost was third in the 110 high hurdles, running to a mark of 16.33 seconds, nearly 1.2 seconds behind champion Kenneth Walker of Big Foot.

Senior Michael Peterson won the triple jump with a mark of 43 feet, 6 inches - six inches beyond that of East Troy's Cody Zaeske.

Whitewater won the boys meet, with Beloit Turner and McFarland finishing second and third.
