Cards have two champs at Rock Valley Conf.

BELOIT - The Brodhead-Juda wrestling team crowned two champions at the Rock Valley Conference meet Saturday.

Brodhead-Juda sophomore Hunter Colden at 152 pounds and junior Kramer Lewis (160) each finished as conference champions.

Evansville-Albany finished third as a team and Brodhead-Juda took fourth.

After a first-round bye, Colden pinned Edgerton's Peter Linsley in a minute, 26 seconds. He defeated Beloit Turner's Kyle Allen 5-3 in the title match. Lewis also received a first-round bye. He then won in a technical fall over Austin Muszynski 15-0; and defeated Ryan Triplett 11-4 in the semifinals.

In the championship match, Lewis edged Clinton's Dane Brandl 5-4.

Brodhead-Juda senior Dylan Severson at heavyweight finished second. He pinned Beloit Turner's Kyle Krieger in 4:32; and pinned Clinton's Jacob Bobolz in 40 seconds. In the title match, Severson was pinned by Big Foot-Williams Bay's Garret Cary in 3:40. Brodhead-Juda freshman Jordan Kraak (103) also took second place.

The Cardinals had three wrestlers take fifth, including Cody Knudtson (112), Nano Heredia (130) and Ben Dodd (171).

Evansville-Albany was led by senior J.J. Boley, who took first at 119 pounds. After a first-round bye, Boley pinned Beloit Turner's Jordan Kasbohm in 1:03. In the semifinals, he defeated Whitewater's Nathan Wright 10-0.

He then won a championship match defeating East Troy's Zach Lamb 4-0.

Alex Yoerger (189) finished 2-1 and took second place. Yoerger pinned Jefferson's Brendon Krull in 36 seconds. He pinned Clinton's Tanner Bell in 5:59. Whitewater's Nick Romani defeated Yoerger 15-2 in the championship match.

Evansville-Albany's Tom Bjugstad (145) and Ben Reed (215) each finished third. Bjugstad finished 3-1 and had three pins. Reed also finished 3-1 and had three pins.

Evansville-Albany's Jesse Cothrad (103) and Hayden Milz (130) each finished fourth. Alex Lange (125) and Sean Wiedel (140) each took fifth.
