Cards handle Big Foot

WALWORTH - The Brodhead girls basketball team got a big game from junior Kylie Moe and picked up its second straight win, knocking off Walworth-Big Foot 66-54.

Moe scored a team-high 18 points and was one of three Cardinals players in double figures. Freshman teammate Erin Nyhus scored 15 points and junior Amber Pickel in her first game this season added 12 points.

Brodhead (2-1, 1-1 Rock Valley South) broke the game open with a 15-8 run in the third quarter to take an 11-point lead.

The Cardinals took advantage of getting to the free throw line making 25 of 34 from the charity stripe.



Rio 48, Albany 35

ALBANY - Rio's Dakota Hutzler scored a game-high 26 points to power Rio to a 48-35 win over Albany.

Rio jumped out to an 11-7 lead in the first quarter and led by six points at the half.

Albany junior Marley Malkow scored a team-high 12 points. Junior teammate Sydnee Woyak added nine points. Albany (0-3) shot 8 of 10 from the free throw line.



Riverdale 49, Pecatonica 29

RIVERDALE - Pecatonica senior Emily Scoville scored a game-high 17 points, but it wasn't enough as Riverdale beat Pecatonica in a non-conference game 49-29.

Scoville drilled three 3-pointers. Riverdale opened up a double-digit lead, outscoring the Vikings 19-6 in the second quarter to take a 28-10 lead at the half.

Pecatonica junior Sam Erickson added seven points.



Dodgeville 82, Darlington 24

DODGEVILLE - Taylor Stanek scored a game-high 26 points and hit five 3-pointers to lead the Dodgers to an 82-24 win over Darlington.

Dodgeville (4-0) outscored the Redbirds 24-7 in the first quarter and cruised from there. Dodgeville led 50-11 at the half.

Darlington's Taylor Cox scored six points, while Taryn Rankin and Riley Fitzsimons each added four points.
