Cards dominant in track dual

BRODHEAD - The Brodhead boys and girls track teams dominated a triple dual with Parkview and Palmyra-Eagle Tuesday night.

In girls action, the Cardinals had 13 first-place finishers. Meg Duffield won both the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter run. Taylor Bluemel won both the 1600 and 3200. Maggie Douglas won the 100-meter hurdles. The Cardinals also won the 1,600 and 3,200 relays.

In the field, Gene Balch won the pole vault; Carly Mohns won both the long jump and shot put; Paige Hoesly won the triple jump; and Alicia Condon won the discus.

As a team, the Brodhead-Juda girls defeated Parkview 122-23 and Palmyra-Eagle 103-42.

The Brodhead-Juda boys team won 15 events. Koel Steinman won the 400, Dillon Larson won the 800, and Jordan Douglas won the 300 hurdles. The Cardinals also won the 800, 1,600, and 3,200-meter relays.

In field events, Clay Welte won the pole vault, Matt Speckman won the long jump, Jordan Douglas won the triple jump, Logan Maurer won the shot put, and Gavin Baade won the discus.

Brodhead-Juda defeated Parkview 126-20 as a team, and Palmyra-Eagle 120-26.
