BRODHEAD - After trailing early in their matchup against Palmyra-Eagle, the Brodhead boys basketball team's late-game comeback efforts fell short as they lost 49-42.
The Cardinals were only able to muster 14 first-half points, and entered halftime trailing by 17 points.
However, the second half was a complete turnaround for both teams, as Brodhead was able to hold the visiting Panthers to only three third quarter points.
Unfortunately for the Cardinals, Palmyra-Eagle was able score just enough in the final quarter to hold on for the victory.
Ned Slocum led Brodhead with 13 points, while fellow teammate Tad Harnick added 11 points. Brodhead (2-15, 1-11) will travel to take on Beloit Turner on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
