BRODHEAD - Jesse DeLorme rushed for two touchdowns to propel the Brodhead-Juda football team to a 35-12 win over Palmyra-Eagle on homecoming Friday night.
DeLorme ran for 76 yards as the Cardinals piled up 198 total rushing yards.
The Cardinals (5-2) battled back from a 6-0 deficit when senior quarterback David Earleywine scored on a 7-yard run with 5 minutes, 9 seconds left in the second quarter. DeLorme plunged in for a 1-yard TD run to give the Cardinals a 14-6 halftime lead.
In the second half, Earleywine tossed a 24-yard TD pass and Jaron Harding returned an interception 56 yards for a touchdown.
"It was really ugly," Brodhead-Juda coach Jim Matthys said. "The stats will tell the story."
Earleywine completed 9 of 11 passes for 115 yards and one touchdown. The Cardinals' defense gave up 269 yards, including 192 rushing yards.
New Glarus-Monticello 27, Wis. Heights 20
NEW GLARUS - Lukas Kolasch opened the game with a 71-yard touchdown run and the Knights held on late to move within one win of qualifying for playoffs.
Kolasch scored just 54 seconds into the ball game, and NGM led 21-7 after the first quarter. Then in the fourth, Kolasch connected with Patrick Elzen for a 23-yard touchdown pass to make it 27-7 before Wisconsin Heights scored two more times in the final 2:19 of the contest.
Spencer Jones had a pair of rushing scores, from 2- and 28-yards out, respectively.
Wisconsin Heights (1-6, 0-3 Capitol South) out-gained NGM 347-280 on the night yardage wise, but turnovers and early conversions helped keep the Knights (4-3, 2-1) in control throughout.
Cassville 7, Black Hawk 2
CASSVILLE - The Cassville Comets shut down Black Hawk's high powered offense and beat the Warriors on Friday.
The only points for the Warriors (5-2 Six Rivers) came on a safety when the Comets (4-3) kneeled in the end zone. Black Hawk senior Michael Walker rushed for 98 yards on 11 carries to lead the Warriors.
The loss snapped Black Hawk's four-game winning streak. Black Hawk hosts North Crawford in a non-conference game next Saturday.
Cambridge 52, Belleville-Albany 14
CAMBRIDGE - Jacob Kowalski had a big game for the Wildcats, but it wasn't enough as they lost to the Blue Jays.
Kowalski had 153 total yards including 116 rushing on 21 carries and one touchdown. Kowalski scored on a 64-yard run in the first quarter to cut Cambridge's lead to 14-7. The Blue Jays (6-1, 2-1 Capitol South) went on and scored 31 unanswered points.
Cambridge senior Alex Resnick rushed for 198 yards and scored three touchdowns. The Wildcats (0-7, 0-3) rushed for a total of 167 yards.
