Cardinals, Redbirds dominate ground in wins

BRODHEAD - The offense just keeps on chugging for the Cardinals.

On Friday, Brodhead-Juda (4-2) gained 487 total yards of offense, including 399 yards on the ground, in a 63-27 domination of Clinton (0-6).

Senior running back Jesse DeLorme led all Cardinals with 122 yards on 15 carries, scoring three times in the first half.

Sophomore Derek Turner had two rushing touchdowns and quarterback David Earleywine ran for a score and passed for a score for the Cardinals.

Darlington 47, Mineral Point 14

MINERAL POINT - The Redbirds pasted 26 points onto the scoreboard in the first quarter en route to the big SWAL win.

The Redbirds received a big game from Mitchell Whalen, who scored three huge touchdowns early on.

Just 49 seconds into the game, Whalen scored on a 67-yard scamper and later added a 60-yard TD run and a 64-yard TD reception from Zach McArthur. Whalen finished with 167 yards on nine carries and McArthur was a perfect 3 for 3 for 83 yards and two scores under center.

Seth Rowe added three rushing scored for Darlington (4-2). As a team, the Redbirds accumulated 401 rushing yards and 83 passing while allowing just 172 total from Mineral Point.
