CAMBRIDGE - The New Glarus softball team dropped a doubleheader to Cambridge Friday, April 11, losing 11-0 and 18-0.

"The biggest challenge is taking all of the knowledge we are learning and putting it into motion," New Glarus first-year coach Hannah Grossen said. "We are improving every game."

The Glarner Knights (0-4, 0-2 Capitol South) had three hits in the first game. The singles came from Ashley Judd, Noelle Austin and Madison Perkins.

New Glarus senior Emma Jackson pitched three innings and gave up four runs on seven hits. She struck out one and walked one. Maya Kramer pitched three innings in relief and gave up seven runs on eight hits. She struck out two and walked one.

The Knights also had three hits in the night cap of the twinbill with singles coming from Judd, Hayley Latsch and Kramer.

Jackson pitched four innings and took the loss. She gave up 10 runs on 11 hits. She struck out one and didn't issue a walk.

"We just need to throw strikes and change it up a bit," Grossen said. "We played well for about three innings. We have to find a way to power through and keep our strength up. We have to get more endurance in pitching."
