ARGYLE - Black Hawk senior Heath Butler scored a game-high 31 points to help the Warriors cruise to a 67-38 win over Argyle Tuesday.

Black Hawk (9-7, 6-2 Six Rivers East) jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the first quarter and led by 12 points at the half. Black Hawk senior Troy Wellnitz added 13 points.

The Warriors went on an 18-9 run in the third quarter to take a 21-point lead they wouldn't relinquish. Argyle junior Riley Ostby scored a team-high 19 points and eclipsed the 1,000-career-point milestone. Argyle's Collin Argue chipped in nine points. With the loss, Argyle drops to 4-10, 2-7.

"We were very cold shooting tonight," Argyle assistant coach Bob Lawinger said. "Just couldn't put the ball in the basket. What can you say, that Butler kid is good. He was hitting them from all over the floor. We made him the focus of our defense, but I would say our rotations weren't good tonight.

"We need to play all four quarters in order to win games. And tonight we had one good one (the second quarter). The teams in this conference aren't going to lay down for you, so you have to put the effort in."

Edgerton 57, Brodhead 39

EDGERTON - Brennan Deegan scored a team-high 14 points to lead Edgerton to a 57-39 win over Brodhead.

The Crimson Tide led 28-20 at the half and outscored the Cardinals 28-19 in the second half.

Brodhead junior Ned Slocum scored a game-high 18 points and senior Josiah DeLorme added 13 points.

The Darlington boys basketball team's game at Iowa-Grant was postponed.
