BROOKFIELD - The Monroe boys hockey co-op played short-handed in a nonconference game and lost to Brookfield 6-1 Saturday. "Unfortunately, we were down five players for today so by the end of our varsity game, our guys were gassed," Monroe coach Josh Smith said. "Brookfield is also a good team, and they played a more physical game than we are used to."
