BELLEVILLE - The Brodhead Wrestling Club had five champions crowned and placed fourth at the Sugar River Tournament at Belleville High School on Sunday.
The Monroe Mat Rats had three champs and placed sixth.
For Brodhead, first-grader Blake Doran, second-graders Gage Boegli and Aaron Makos, and third-grader Lucas Steiner all recorded three pins in winning championships.
Second-grader Cole Hoesly had two pins in winning a title.
Second-place finishers for Brodhead included 4-year-old Brooks Malkow, kindergarteners Marcus McIntyre, Nolan Oliver, Joseph Lohmar and Grayson Erb, second-graders Jacob Lohmar, Jacob Arnsmeier and Brady Malkow, third-graders Brayden Erb and Grant Rosheisen, fourth-grader Josh Arnsmeier, sixth-grader Kaleb Erb and seventh-grader Tyler Hoesly.
The Mat Rats' three champions all came in the Third Grade/Fourth Grade Division, with Lucas Andersen, Patrick Rielly and Alex Witt winning gold. Luke Dubach, Max Haffele, Bodie Minder, Max Patterson and Garrett Grossen posted seconds in the same division.
David Andrews and McKenzy Foley were runners-up in the Seventh/Eighth Grade Division.
The Mat Rats' Traiten Gorr also wrestled to a championship at the Sauk Prairie Tournament, taking the gold medal in the Seventh/Eighth Grade Division.
