CLINTON - Brodhead junior Kylie Moe scored a game-high 26 points and the Cardinals came back to beat Clinton 49-43 in the Rock Valley South Conference opener on Tuesday.
"We knew it was going to be tough," Brodhead coach Brian Kammerer said. "We knew Clinton was pegged as a conference contender."
Brodhead senior Amber Pickel scored 11 points, and sophomore Erin Nyhus added nine.
"We gave up a lot of points in transition in the first half," Kammerer said. "We had about 20 turnovers, which is uncharacteristic for us."
Brodhead (2-0) will play at Monroe at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
"We will have our hands full with Monroe," Kammerer said. "Monroe is an up-and-coming team. We will have to come ready to play."
