Brewers bash Wiota

MONROE - The Monroe Brewers beat Wiota 12-2 in a Home Talent Thursday night League game.

The Brewers scored six runs in the fourth to break the game open. Kris Rieder had an RBI single and Kramer Henning had a three-run double. Player/co-manager Lon Scheuerell also had an RBI single.

Ben Conway pitched five innings to pick up the win. He gave up just two hits while striking out four and walking one.

The Brewers put up four runs in the sixth to put the game away. Scott White had a two-run double in the sixth and Matt Busjahn also had an RBI double. Henning scored the final run to give the Brewers the win on a passed ball.

Henning, Scheuerell and Rieder each collected two hits. Rieder also pitched two solid innings in relief.

With the win, Monroe improves to 2-1 in the Thursday league. Monroe hosts Blanchardville at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
