MADISON - Monroe's boys golf team finished ninth out of 15 teams Monday in the Madison Edgewood Invita-tional at Maple Bluff Country Club with a score of 344.
Mitch McArdle led the way for the Cheesemakers, shooting an 11-over-par 82 despite heavy winds and a cold, wet course. Brandon Wilson shot an 83, Aaron Krattiger carded an 86, and Garrett Voegeli capped off Monroe's scoring with a 93.
Madison Edgewood won the invite with a score of 306. The Cheesemakers finished two strokes behind McFarland and just beat out conference rivals Milton (345) and Oregon (346) for ninth place.
REDBIRDS WIN SWAL MEET
MINERAL POINT - The Darlington boys golf team won the second SWAL conference meet of the spring Monday with a 173 at Dodge-Point Country Club. Darlington beat out Iowa-Grant by two strokes.
Adam Reichling and Bryan Reichling each were tied atop the leader board with a score of 40 on a chilly day that saw heavy gusting winds.
The course was a par 35.
