Boys, girls basketball camps set for June

MONROE - Pat Murphy, the Monroe boys basketball coach, is hosting a boys basketball camp June 2-4 at Monroe High School.

The camp will focus and teach the fundamentals of offense, defense, rebounding, dribbling and passing. The camp is $35 for three days and includes a T-shirt.

The camp will also provide individual and team competitions. Camp registration forms are due to Monroe High School by Friday, May 24. Checks can be made out to the Monroe Boys Club.

The camp for third- and fourth-graders will be 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. June 2-4. Fifth- and sixth-graders will have basketball camp from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and seventh- and eighth-graders will have camp 7 to 8:30 p.m. The grade of each basketball player is based on the 2013-14 school year.

Sam Mathiason, the Monroe girls basketball coach, is hosting a girls basketball camp June 2-4 at Monroe High School.

The camp will focus and teach the fundamentals of shooting, rebounding, dribbling and passing.

The girls basketball camp will run from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost of the camp is $35 and includes a T-shirt.
