BELLEVILLE - The Knights were sure to "Lock" down a Sugar River sweep Thursday night.
Junior Logan Lockard used his 6-1 frame to own the painted area and hit all 12 of his free throws as a result as New Glarus (9-8, 5-4 Capitol South) swept the annual rivalry with a 60-42 victory just a few miles to the north of their home floor.
Lockard scored a game-high 15 points but the Wildcats got within four points at 35-31 midway through the third period as Griffin Rear led Belleville (3-14, 1-7) with 12 points and hit two 3s.
Lockard's other three points also came from beyond the arc.

Redbirds fans must have just been happy to get a win without the need for antacids Thursday night.
After a flurry of nail-biting contests recently, Darlington (11-5, 7-4 SWAL) took a 29-15 lead into the halftime locker room on Senior Night despite operating without the services of prolific senior Cameron Ruef, whose hip pointer will be re-evaluated next week.
In his absence, Mitchell Erickson lived up to his reputation as the team's leading scorer with a game-high 15 points. Freshman point guard Tucker Wiegel scored 10 points for his first double-digit output, but his senior brother, Kyler, was not to be outdone as he scored 10 as well.
Darlington heads to Highland tonight for a non-conference game before resuming SWAL play Tuesday at Mineral Point.

Just when Travis Erickson thought his Orioles took pride in their defense, the Eagles scored 37 points in the first 16 minutes of a Six Rivers East rout.
Barneveld (11-5, 7-3 Six Rivers East) added insult to injury in a 17-1 third-quarter runaway act and held Argyle forward Kevin Berg to just three points.
And the Orioles (5-13, 2-9) that got good looks around their senior post were frigid as he kicked the ball out as the Eagles collapsed.
"We just didn't do a very good job around Kevin," Erickson said. "We had a lot of open looks and couldn't hit any of them. It's one of those nights you'd like to forget."

Feller finished with a game-high 14 and Moen had 13 points in the victory. Kyle Hook added 11 points.
