BELOIT - Jake Bast scored 20 points and the New Glarus boys basketball team hit seven 3-pointers as it demolished Beloit Turner 56-38 on Monday.
New Glarus came out a little cold in the first quarter and trailed 14-11 headed into the second. That's when everything started opening up.
The coaching staff talked to its kids about coming out strong and playing solid defense.
The players responded, and took a 24-22 lead by halftime. By the time the third quarter was over, New Glarus had lengthened its lead to 39-26.
Cassidy Flannery scored 10 points and seven other Knights scored in the game.
New Glarus (5-0) will rest up for the next few days before traveling to the Benton Tournament on Dec. 26 and 27.

MONTICELLO - The Ponies continued their hot streak Monday.
Monticello (5-1, 4-0 Six Rivers East) jumped out to a 13-2 first-quarter lead and coasted.
The Ponies were led by senior Brandon Holz, who scored a game-high 16 points and junior Jacob Marty added 11.
Monticello sophomore Tyler Ritschard had eight and senior Casey Klossner chipped in seven. Six different players hit 3-pointers for the Ponies.
