PLATTEVILLE - The Pecatonica-Argyle boys and girls track teams can both boast that they have 800-meter relay teams that brought home first place finishes at the UW-Platteville High School Invitational held Thursday. The boys 800-meter relay team topped the field in 8:56.46, while the girls team captured the best time on their side with a time of 11:09.68.
Other highlights for Pecatonica-Argyle came in the boys 400-meter dash where Nathan Loyd finished second with a time of 54.89 seconds. In the boys long jump, senior Kyle Zwicker placed second with a mark of 18 feet, 7.5 inches. In the girls meet, Pecatonica-Argyle's Kendra Sigg claimed third place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:44.33. It was also a good day for the Vikings' 400-meter relay team, which placed third with a time of 4 minutes, 45.90 seconds. Ten teams competed in the UW-Platteville High School Invitational, but no team scores were kept.
