MONROE - The Monroe Blues lost a pair of games Friday and Saturday.
The Fond du Lac Bears beat the Blues 6-3 Friday, and the Blues lost to Portage Lake 4-3 Saturday.
Against Fond du Lac, the game was tied 2-2 going into last five minutes of the second period. Fond du Lac scored three times in a four-minute span to take control of the game. Each team scored a goal in the third period.
Monroe's Travis Rayala scored two goals and Casey Davenport scored one goal. Assists were notched by Gottlieb Brandli III, Ryan Roeming and Jason Johnson each with two. Goalie Christian Blick turned away 49 shots.
Portage Lake had a 4-0 after the second period. Monroe woke up in the third period but lost 4-3. Monroe's Travis Davenport, Rayala and Brandli each scored one goal. Brandli had two assists, while Dom Peterson, Davenport and Rayala each had one assist. Goalie Brad Jerzewski had 36 saves.
Monroe travels to Michigan's Upper Peninsula Friday and Saturday for two games. Then the Blues will host the Calumet Wolverines at 8 p.m. on Feb. 7.
