Black Hawk tops Argyle, Juda-Albany dominates Pec

ARGYLE - Black Hawk freshman Bailey Butler went 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Warriors to a 10-5 win over Argyle in their season opener.

Black Hawk (1-0) scored three runs in the first inning and put the game out of reach with a four-run sixth. Argyle (0-2, 0-1 Six Rivers East) was plagued by five errors.

Black Hawk sophomore Natalie Leuzinger went 2-for-5 with two RBIs to help propel the Warriors. Black Hawk sophomore Hannah Butler pitched a complete game to get the win. She gave up five earned runs on five hits, struck out nine and walked six.

Argyle sophomore Kyah Hendrickson pitched six innings and gave up four earned runs on seven hits, while striking out two and walking five.

Argyle junior Jayden Saalsaa went 1-for-2.



Juda-Albany 15, Pecatonica 0

BLANCHARDVILLE - Juda-Albany senior Nicki Becker tossed a two-hit shutout to lead the Panthers to a 15-0 five-inning win over the Vikings Tuesday.

Becker, a Concordia University recruit, struck out 13 and walked just one.

"The first game of the year she (Becker) was battling the flu," Juda-Albany coach Bill Davis said. "You could just tell the difference. She was throwing the ball hard and had really good gas."

Juda-Albany senior Haley Freitag went 2-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs. Both senior Victoria Euclide-Petig and junior sophomore Lydia Bouc went 2-for-3 with two doubles. With the win, Juda-Albany improves to 1-1 overall and 1-0 Six Rivers East.

Pecatonica senior Ninah McKeon pitched a complete game and gave up six earned runs on 13 hits, while striking out two and walking four.
