Black Hawk rolls by Benton

BENTON - Black Hawk sophomore Colby Argall and junior Brody Milz combined to run for 260 yards and two touchdowns in the Warriors' 36-6 win over Benton-Scales Mound on Friday.

Argall rushed for 133 yards on 26 carries and scored one touchdown and Milz rushed for 127 yards on 18 carries and scored one touchdown. The Warriors (2-2) rushed for a total of 2,656 yards.

"We wanted to get some explosive plays of 15 yards or more," Black hawk coach Cory Milz said. "It's been a couple of weeks since we have had some explosive plays. We had some explosive plays running and passing. I thought we ran the ball pretty well tonight. I thought offensively we did better tonight."

Argall had a 6-yard TD run midway through the first quarter. Brody Milz ran in the two-point conversion to give the Warriors an 8-0 lead. Black Hawk junior Michael Flanagan also had two touchdowns. Flanagan hooked up with junior Jett Rufenacht on a 17-yard TD pass with 3:16 left in the first quarter to give the Warriors a 16-0 lead. Rufenacht then returned a kickoff 96-yards for a touchdown and Milz ran in the two-point conversion to give the Warriors a 24-6 lead.

Milz had a 9-yard TD run in the second quarter and Flanagan had a 1-yard TD run late in the second quarter.



Beloit Turner 28, Brodhead-Juda 26

BRODHEAD - Sophomore running back Jeffrey Williams had an 8-yard TD run late in the fourth quarter to pull the Cardinals within two points against Beloit Turner.

Brodhead-Juda coach Jim Matthys had the Cardinals go for a two-point conversion to tie the game, but the pass was incomplete and Beloit Turner survived to edge Brodhead-Juda 28-26 on Friday.

Beloit Turner (3-1) racked up 307 rushing yards. Beloit Turner's Juan Reyes rushed for 142 yards on 13 carries and scored three touchdowns.

Williams had a big game for the Cardinals running for 120 yards on 22 carries and scored three touchdowns. Williams had touchdown runs of 2, 1 and 8 yards. Brodhead-Juda senior quarterback Matt Schmitt completed 8-of-12 passes for 180 yards.



Darlington 61, Mineral Point 0

MINERAL POINT - Darlington cousins Hunter Johnson and Trevor Johnson combined for five touchdowns to power the No. 2-ranked Redbirds (4-0) to a 61-0 win over Mineral Point.

Hunter Johnson rushed for 138 yards on six carries and scored three touchdowns. He scored on runs of 12, 54 and 5 yards. Trevor Johnson caught a 46-yard TD pass from senior quarterback Jared Meister in the second quarter to help the Redbirds take an 19-0 lead. Meister also connected with Trevor Johnson on a 46-yard TD pass. Meister was 5 of 7 passing for 122 yards with two touchdowns.

Darlington's Brayden McDonald had a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown and Meister added a 32-yard TD run.



Lodi 24, New Glarus-MONT. 0

NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus-Monticello football team missed a field goal in the first half and perennial power Lodi pulled away for a 24-0 win.

Lodi limited New Glarus-Monticello (1-3) to 164 total yards. The Glarner Knights were plagued by four interceptions and also missed a field goal in the second half.

New Glarus-Monticello quarterback Noah Zimmerman was 1 of 3 passing for 44 yards. New Glarus-Monticello running back Hayden Latsch rushed for 22 yards.

In other games on Friday, Pecatonica-Argyle defeated Belmont 62-12. With the win, Pecatonica-Argyle improves to 4-0. Evansville-Albany (3-1) beat McFarland 44-0.
