Black Hawk, Pecatonica-Argyle each split at quad

BLANCHARDVILLE - The Fennimore wrestling team defeated Pecatonica-Argyle 67-9 and topped Black Hawk 66-18 Tuesday in the Pecatonica quadrangular.

Black Hawk's Jarred Pickett (113 pounds) went 2-0 with a pin in 37 seconds over Jason Wolf of Fennimore and a pin in 3:40 over Marty Fischer of River Ridge/Cassville. Black Hawk's Dakota Meier (138 pounds) also went 2-0 with a pin in 53 seconds over Fennimore's Dillin Aide and a forfeit as the Warriors went 1-1 following a 42-34 victory over River Ridge/Cassville.

Pecatonica-Argyle went 1-1 with its win coming over River Ridge/Cassville, 48-30. The Vikings were led by 160-pounder Travis Gilson, who went 2-0 with a pin in 3:39 over Desmond Crapp of River Ridge/Cassville and a pin in 2:58 over Hans Heberlein of Fennimore.

Brodhead-Juda 55, Palmyra-Eagle 18

PALMYRA - Brodhead-Juda recorded three pins and five forfeits to roll past Palmyra-Eagle in Rock Valley Conference action. The Cardinals got off to a 12-0 lead after receiving two forfeits.

At 126 pounds, sophomore Cody Knudtson stuck P-E's Austin Scheder in 5:20 to give the Cardinals an 18-0 advantage. Senior Neno Heredia's 13-0 major decision over John Koehn at 138 pounds gave the Cardinals a 22-6 lead.

That was followed by freshman Brady Colden's pin in 1:37 over Alex Murn at 145 pounds, putting the Cardinals up 28-6. Brodhead-Juda (8-1). Cardinals freshman Gavin Baade (182) got a pin in 2:42 over John Pronschinske at 182 pounds and sophomore Tyler Davis (195) topped Eugene Sweno, 6-5.
