Black Hawk outlasts Warren

WARREN - The Black Hawk boys basketball team had four players reach double figures and the Warriors outlasted Warren (Ill.) 61-55 Monday, Feb. 3.

Black Hawk (12-4, 5-2 Six Rivers East) outscored Warren 17-8 in the second quarter to take a seven point lead at the half.

Black Hawk senior Seth Butler scored a team-high 19 points and senior Brett Lovelace added 13 points. Junior Heath Butler added 12 points and junior Shawn Woodruff chipped in 11 points.



Parkview 64, Brodhead 56

ORFORDVILLE - Brodhead's Ned Slocum scored 23 points, but Orfordville Parkview was able to hang on for a 64-56 win Monday.

Brodhead (2-14, 1-10 Rock Valley South) outscored the Vikings 13-8 in the second quarter to slice Parkview's lead at the half to one point. The Cardinals entered the fourth quarter down by just one point. The Vikings outscored the Cardinals 21-14 in the final period. Slocum made two of the Cardinals' four 3-pointers. Brodhead's Griffin Day added 15 points.
