MONROE - The Associated Press released its first prep football poll on Sunday and Black Hawk is ranked No. 7 in the small schools division.
The small school division includes the top 10 schools with enrollments of 300 or less. Fond du Lac Springs is ranked No. 1 in the small schools poll. Potosi, which was the Six Rivers Conference co-champions with Highland last year, is ranked fifth.
Black Hawk will play Potosi in a conference clash at the University of Wisconsin Platteville on Saturday. Black Hawk and all of its Warrior Nation fans opened a lot of eyes last year when they lost a thrilling Level 2 playoff game to Burlington Catholic Central 35-34.
Lancaster, which was bumped down to the small schools, is ranked No. 8.
Waunakee, which has won three straight state championships, is ranked No. 1 in the large schools division and Monona Grove is No. 10. Walworth Big Foot is ranked No. 2 in the medium school division.
