SOUTH WAYNE - Black Hawk senior Lauren Schultz didn't meet Juda's Natalee Baum, who died recently.

However, Schultz knew that when tragedy struck she wanted to help out. She went to talk to Black Hawk softball coach Curt Leuzinger about hosting a "Miracle Minute" fundraiser for Baum's family during a home softball game. The fundraiser was first set for Monday when the Warriors were set to play Barneveld. That game was postponed and now the "Miracle Minute" fundraiser for Baum's family is set for 5 p.m. Thursday when Black Hawk hosts Belmont.

"Lauren Schultz wanted to do something for the family and raise about $200," Leuzinger said. "We saw what the Darlington baseball team did in their first game against Black Hawk. She took the idea and ran with it. I told her let's get a plan and roll with it."

Leuzinger said halfway through the game both Black Hawk and Belmont players will pass a helmet through the stands to collect donations. If the game is postponed Thursday, Leuzinger said the team will host the "Miracle Minute" fundraiser Tuesday against Argyle.
