HIGHLAND - Black Hawk junior Michael Walker powered the Warriors to a 39-23 win over Highland in the regular season finale Thursday night.
Walker rushed for 104 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Warriors. The Warriors (6-3) exploded for 25 first half points.
Black Hawk junior Dejay Warrell scored on a 33-yard run for the Warriors to give them an early first quarter lead. Walker had a 3-yard TD run in the first quarter and a 9-yard TD run in the second quarter to give the Warriors a 19-7 lead.
After Highland cut the Warriors' lead to 19-15 in the second quarter, Black Hawk answered. Black Hawk junior Jace Johnsrud scored on a 53-yard run to give the Warriors a 25-15 lead.
Black Hawk junior Kyle Woodruff capped the scoring with a 9-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. The Warriors rushed for 259 yards as a team. Black Hawk senior Michael Wolff was 5 of 13 passing for 76 yards.

RIVERDALE - The Redbirds capped an undefeated regular season by dismantling Riverdale.
Mitchell Whalen scored a late touchdown, capping his comeback from an injury suffered in the track and field season in the spring.
Alex Erickson rushed for a touchdown and threw another to Tucker Wiegel for a highlight-reel catch and run.
Darlington will likely get a top seed in the football pairings, but will play on the road in the opening round of the playoffs Tuesday, Oct. 26 due to the lack of lighting necessary for a host school.

The Glarner Knights' bid to force a three-way tie atop the Capitol South for the conference title came up short since they were shutout by the Cardinals.
New Glarus-Monticello (7-2) finished third in the Capitol South behind conference champion Marshall and runner-up Waterloo. The Knights now await their playoff draw.
In other area Week 9 action, Waterloo knocked off Belleville-Albany 49-18.
