SOUTH WAYNE - Black Hawk swept Monticello in a doubleheader Monday, 15-0 and 17-1.

Hannah Butler and Savanna Burmeister combined to throw a five-inning no-hitter in the first game. Butler pitched four innings, striking out five without a walk. Burmeister struck out one batter in the fifth inning. Black Hawk's lone defensive blemish was an error.

At the dish, Lauren Schultz was 2-for-4 with a double, and Cheyenne Stewart also went 2-for-4 for Black Hawk.

The Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first and then added five in the second, three in the third to make it 11-0 and put the Ponies out of reach.

Monticello's Miah Brokopp struck out one, walked 11 and gave up eight hits to Black Hawk.

In Game 2, Black Hawk scored five runs in the first inning, six in the second and three runs in each the third and fourth innings. Hannah Butler was 2-for-3 at the plate and on the mound allowed four hits and zero walks to go with five strikeouts. Hannah Herbst was 3-for-4 at the dish and Bailey Butler smashed a home run.

Claire Klossner pitched for the Ponies, allowing six walks and nine hits with two strikeouts.



Juda-Albany 11, Argyle 0

ARGYLE - The Orioles could only muster one hit against Nicki Becker and struggled in the field, committing six errors.

"The errors came at the worst times - with runners on base," Argyle coach Heidi Ganshert said. "You can't have that against a team like Juda-Albany."

The Panthers took a 1-0 lead after the first inning before scoring five in the second and three in the third to take a commanding 9-0 advantage.

Sammi Detra, Haley Freitag and Becker each went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double for Juda-Albany. On the mound, Becker allowed just one hit and zero walks with 12 strikeouts.

Kyah Hendrickson started on the mound for Argyle, and Natalie Romdenne came on in relief. Combined they allowed six earned runs on nine hits, two walks and a strikeout. Romdenne had the Orioles' only hit.
