BH finishes second at Six Rivers

RIVER RIDGE - Black Hawk took second place in both the boys and girls portions of the Six Rivers Conference track and field meet Tuesday, behind host River Ridge.

Pecatonica-Argyle took third, Albany fifth and Monticello seventh, for both boys and girls.

Black Hawk's Rachel Rygh took first in both the girls 100-meter and 200-meter dashes with times of 13.66 seconds and 28.90 seconds, respectively.

Warriors teammate Melissa Wellnitz won the 800 (2:38.0) and Katie Place won the triple jump (30 feet, 11 inches). Place, Rygh, Wellnitz and Alyssa Piefer took first in the 800 relay (1:57.0).

Albany's Jessica Mauerman won the 400 (1:06.60) and teamed up with Rosy Bauman, Courtney Pfeuti and Ciara Kubesh to win the 1,600 relay (4:35.0).

Monticello's Kelsey Bernet won both the 1,600 and 3,200, with times of 5:49.0 and 13:01.0, respectively.

Pecatonica's 400 relay team of Holly Vlasak, Abby Flanagan, Brittany Ziller and Cassie Welch took first with a time of 55:87.

On the boys side, Pecatonica-Argyle's Lucas Stoehr won the 400 with a time of 52.75. Fellow Vikings Chris James, Cameron Colson, Marcus Rubio and Wyatt Massey came together to win the 3,200 relay (9:05.0).

Black Hawk's Cody Foster grabbed top honors in the 300 hurdles, finishing with a mark of 44.91 seconds. Foster teamed with Ben Stauffacher, DeeJay Warrell and Jace Johnsrud to win the 400 relay (47.69).
