Beloit Turner clips Albany

BELOIT - Albany senior Isaiah Shell scored a game-high 34 points and hit five 3-pointers, but the Comets lost a heartbreaker in overtime to Beloit Turner 72-68 Saturday, Jan. 11.

Albany (6-3, 2-0 Six Rivers East) led 30-25 at the half. Beloit Turner outscored the Comets 19-9 in the third quarter to take a five point lead the fourth quarter.

Albany senior Mitchell Kauk and junior Mitchell Trow each added eight points.



Mineral Point 78, Darlington 60

DARLINGTON - The No. 2 ranked Mineral Point Pointers had too many weapons to stop as the Pointers ran away with a 78-60 win over Darlington Saturday.

Mineral Point (12-0, 4-0 SWAL), ranked second in the WisSports.net Coaches poll, had five players in double figures. They were led by Trevor Wendhausen, who scored a game-high 19 points.

The Pointers jumped out to a 25-11 lead in the first quarter and didn't look back. The Pointers led by 23 points at the half and cruised from there.

The Redbirds outscored the Pointers 38-33 in the second half, but overcoming a 23-point deficit was too big of a hurdle.

Darlington (4-3, 2-1 SWAL) was led by junior Cole McDonald, who scored a team-high 15 points. The Redbirds also had some balanced scoring with four players in double figures. Senior Cade Hardyman scored 14 points and Cody Hardyman and junior Ben Muhlstein each added 12 points.
