BELLEVILLE - Drew Shrader scored a game-high 23 points and drilled three 3-pointers to lead the Belleville boys basketball team to a 63-30 nonconference win over Monticello on Tuesday.
Belleville, playing its season opener, outscored the Ponies 28-9 in the first half.
Both the Wildcats and Ponies hit five 3-pointers. Monticello senior Zach Price and Trenten Ryan each scored a team-high eight points and both hit two 3-pointers.
Monticello (0-2) shot 3 of 15 from the free-throw line, and the Wildcats were 8 of 15.
Belleville's Brock Kelly added 12 points.
In other action, Platteville defeated Juda 70-48.
