Becker dazzles in shutout

JUDA - Sophomore Nicki Becker pitched a one-hit shutout and struck out 13 to lead the Juda-Albany softball team to a 3-0 win over Barneveld on Monday.

"She (Becker) was really in a zone tonight," Juda-Albany coach Bill Davis said. "She was getting ahead of the hitters and making them hit her pitch."

Juda-Albany senior Jessica Crull hit a two-run home run to left field in the first inning to spark the Panthers.

"I would have hoped it would have livened our bats a little more," Davis said of Crull's home run. "We have struggled (hitting). We will get it going again."

Crull finished 3-for-3 with three RBI. Junior Alexis Goecks was also 3-for-3 for the Panthers (3-2, 2-0 Six Rivers East).



Black Hawk 14, Pecatonica 2 (5)

SOUTH WAYNE - Sophomore Hannah Herbst had a big performance to lead the Warriors over Pecatonica.

The Warriors broke the game open with an 11-run fourth inning.

Herbst went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI.

Black Hawk's Jordyn Delzer finished 2-for-3 with a triple, and sophomore Lauren Schultz had a triple and scored two runs.

Black Hawk senior Rachel Ritschard pitched a complete game to get the win. She gave up two earned runs on two hits. She struck out seven and walked two.

Pecatonica senior Clara Moen went 1-for-3 with one run scored. She pitched four innings and gave up three earned runs on nine hits. She walked eight and struck out three. The Vikings were plagued by nine errors.



Johnson Creek 11, New Glarus 9

NEW GLARUS - Johnson Creek had seven players have multi-hit games as they pulled out a win over New Glarus.

Six hitters for Johnson Creek combined for 14 hits, nine RBI and 10 runs scored.

Junior Maya Kramer went 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead the Glarner Knights. Kramer had an RBI triple in the first inning to tie the game at 1. Johnson Creek scored three runs in the third to take a 5-1 lead. The Knights rallied with three runs in the bottom of the third.

New Glarus senior Jessica Van Dusen had an RBI double, and senior Noelle Austin delivered a two-run double in the third.

New Glarus junior Nikki Bushee went 2-for-2, and sophomore Riley Parker finished 2-for-4. Van Dusen went 2-for-5 with one RBI.

Parker pitched a complete game and gave up 11 earned runs on 16 hits. She struck out three and walked three.



Riverdale 12, Darlington 2

DARLINGTON - Riverdale limited Darlington to two hits en route to handing the Redbirds a 12-2 loss.

Riverdale pounded out 11 hits.
