MONROE - There's no shot clock in tennis, but time is running out to get signed up for the first of three exciting tournaments this summer.

The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department will host the 37th annual city tennis tournament this Saturday and Sunday.

The tournament is open to anyone and and will feature six brackets, including Class A men's and women's championship flights, Class B men's and women's intermediate flights and 14-and-under brackets for boys and girls.

The entry fee is $10 per person over 14 years of age and $5 for youth. The women's brackets and the 14-and-under brackets will begin play at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Recreation Park. The men's brackets start at Rec Park at 12:30 p.m.

Friday marks the deadline to register. For more information, call tournament director Jim Bartholf at 325-9402.
