RICHLAND CENTER - It didn't take long for the Cardinals to find their stroke Monday night.

Brodhead outscored Richland Center 35-19 in the first half and kept pace on their way to an 83-52 win.

J.J. Panoske led the way with 21 points, including three 3-pointers, and Jake Cole hit three from distance, finishing with 14. Brandon McKee rolled in 12 as 10 Cardinals scored in the game.

"Our guys came out flat, but once we got going, we were all right," Brodhead head coach Brian Kammerer said.

The Cardinals opened up a 13-0 lead to start the game, despite the long bus ride.

"We were looking to get some more D-2 teams on our schedule," Kammerer said.

The game started slow offensively, but picked up. Brodhead dropped 33 points in the fourth quarter alone.

"We did a better job. We were looking to push it and we got a lot of post touches. There were a lot of mismatches in the post, and we knocked down free throws as well," Kammerer said.
