MONROE - Sophomore forward Alex Barradas was named honorable mention Badger South All-Conference for the season he had with the Monroe boys soccer team.
Barradas scored eight goals and had two assists. The Cheesemakers finished the season 6-11-2 and lost a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal game to Madison Edgewood 5-0.
"The coaches were impressed by his ability," Monroe coach Tony Vasquez said of Barradas. "I was happy because it's hard for guys as young as him to get recognized. It's big. Alex has put in the time and he has the love for the game. He will improve on the level he is at now."
Monona Grove, which went 6-0-1 in the conference captured the title. The Silver Eagles had six players named first-team all-conference.
