HOLLANDALE - The Barneveld hit parade didn't slow down as it passed through Viking country Wednesday night for a rain make-up.
The Eagles crunched 14 hits and built a 10-2 lead through three-and-a-half innings before the Vikings fought back with a two-spot in the bottom of the fourth. Barneveld put the finishing touches on with a three-run seventh to pull away in an 11-4 Six Rivers East victory.
Chelsea Watkins had two doubles as Barneveld racked up five total two-baggers. Eagles sophomore Kelly Mueller wasn't overpowering on the mound but still earned the victory over Pec starter Mallory Massey as both aces went the distance. Three Vikings had two hits apiece and sophomore Kaitlin Linder had a triple.
In other area rain make-ups, Darlington fell to the 10-run rule, 12-0 at home against Mineral Point in a SWAL contest. Argyle continued its woes with an 8-0 non-conference loss at Southwestern and New Glarus got a 9-8 rivalry victory over Monticello on the Ponies' diamond.
