BARNEVELD - The Pecatonica girls basketball team had a tough test Monday against Barneveld, ranked fifth in the Division 4 Associated Press state poll.
The Eagles (8-1, 4-0 Six Rivers East Conference) rolled to a 59-37 win, Pecatonica's (6-5, 2-3) fourth loss in five games.
Barneveld raced out to a 20-14 lead after the first quarter. The Eagles limited the Vikings to just 13 second-half points.
Junior Kimee Chandler led the Vikings with a game-high 17 points, including four 3-pointers. Pecatonica sophomore Alisha Esselstein added 10 points.
