B-J takes fourth at tourney

DEERFIELD - The Brodhead-Juda wrestling team finished in fourth place at the 18-team Deerfield Scramble Saturday with 628 points. Random Lake won the tournament with 697 points.

Dylan Severson (heavyweight) and Hunter Colden (145 pounds), each brought home titles for the Cardinals.

Severson (26-6) went 4-0 with four pins and knocked off Deerfield's Walker Jaroch in the title match in 3 minutes, 58 seconds.

Colden (30-2 on the season) went 4-0 on the day, with three major-decision victories and a pin. Colden won by major decision over Nate Thomes of Jefferson in the championship.

Devan Seitz (152 pounds, 24-3) went 3-1 on the day, losing 7-3 in the championship to Mishicot's Josiah Brendemuel.

Cody Spooner (215 pounds) and Cale Zettle (130) each took fourth-place honors and Ethan Voight (171) and Mitchel Wiesenberg (125) finished fifth.

Milwaukee Tech (689 points) finished in second place and Mishicot (637) was third.

Wisconsin Dells Invitational

WISCONSIN DELLS - Sugar River brought just five wrestlers, but came away with five medals in the eight-team tournament.

Ben Schmitt (25-0) won a 14-7 decision over Waunakee's Devon Maly in the 171-pound championship match.

Mike Nolden (22-11), wrestling at 189 pounds, lost to Viroqua's Dylan Hoiland in the title match, 5-1.

Dylan Riley (135 pounds), Tom Vetterli (140) and Dan Nolden (152) each finished in third place.
