Avalanche Squirt A defeats Waunakee

MONROE - The Avalanche Squirt A team hosted the Waunakee Wildcats on Sunday, Dec. 2. Goalie Heath Bear earned a 5-0 shutout.

Scoring for the Avalanche were Anika Einbeck, Roman Bauer, Cade Janecke, Tessa Janecke, and Luke Kuberski. Earning assists were Cade Janecke, Einbeck, and Kuberski.

Squirt B

The Avalanche Squirt B team played three games Dec. 1-2. On Saturday, the Squirt B fell to Middleton Squirt 4, 4-1.

Ethan Williams scored the lone Avalanche goal. Goalie Aiden Runkle had 13 saves.

On Sunday, the Squirt B hosted Sun Prairie B. It was a close match to the end, and the Avalanche won 2-1. Scoring were Alvin Buholzer, unassisted, and Jayden Johnson, assisted by Bryce Montgomery and Brady Smith. Runkle recorded 20 saves. The Squirt B then traveled to Wisconsin Dells. The Avalanche fell 4-1. Ryan Molitor, assisted by Brady Smith, scored the only Avalanche goal. Runkle recorded 14 saves. The team had 23 shots on goal.

Mite White

The Avalanche Mite White recently traveled to Middleton and played three games. The team lost all three games to Stoughton, Middleton and Janesville. Scoring for the Avalanche Mite White were Anna Malone and Blaze Janecke.

Mite Blue

The Avalanche Mite Blue traveled to Verona and played three games. The first ended in a 3-3 tie.

Opening the scoring were Lily Brewer (her first goal of the season), Seth Brandt, and Marlies Brandli (also her first of the season). Goalie Jaryn Fonseca recorded 10 saves.

The Avalanche took on Southwest in the second game but lost 2-0. Goalie Jaryn Fonseca recorded nine saves. The Avalanche fell to Waunakee in a hard fought third game 6-5. Scoring for the Avalanche were Brandt (three goals), Brewer, and Zander Obert. Fonseca recorded seven saves.

Tree Sales

Christmas trees are available for purchase at SLICE, 1632 4th Ave. West, Monroe. Weekday hours are 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The trees that are available are varying sizes each of white pine, scotch, balsam, and fraser.
