WAUNAKEE - The Avalanche U12 Girls Team dominated the U12B DC Diamonds at Waunakee on Saturday, earning a 7-0 win.
Scoring for the Avalanche were Tessa Janecke (2), Brooke Teubert, Anika Einbeck (2), Alyssa Knauf and Ava Lothes. Earning assists were Tessa Janecke (2), Ally Einbeck, Anika Einbeck, Haley Knauf and Alyssa Knauf. The Avalanche recorded 18 shots on goal.
For the last home game, the Avalanche U10 Girls team hosted the Ice Spirit U10 team on Sunday, winning 5-2. Tessa Janecke had a hat trick, while Haley Knauf and Marlies Brandli each added one goal apiece.
Earning assists were Tessa Janecke and Haley Knauf. The Avalanche out-shot the Ice Spirit 21-12.
Squirt A
The Avalanche Squirt A had two huge wins last weekend. In the first game, the Avalanche Squirt A hosted the Waunakee Wildcats Squirt B team on Saturday and shut them out 8-0.
Luke Kuberski opened scoring, with an assist from Broc Kuberski. Tessa Janecke lit the lamp for another, with an assist from Alyssa Knauf. Cade Janecke then scored a short-handed goal. Anika Einbeck scored the last goal of the first period, on an assist from Cade Janecke.
Cade earned a hat trick and Tessa Janecke and Hayden Roth rounded out the remaining Avalanche goals. Heath Bear earned an assist. Goalie Payton Stauffacher recorded 12 saves, while the Avalanche recorded 35 shots on goal.
The Avalanche Squirt A hosted the Middleton Wings Squirt A on Sunday, Feb. 24. The Wings opened scoring with two goals in the first period. The Avalanche responded with four unanswered goals, defeating the Wings 4-2. Luke Kuberski (two), Tessa Janecke and Hayden Roth scored the Avalanche goals. Earning assists were Tessa Janecke, Alyssa Knauf, Anika Einbeck and Roman Bauer. The Avalanche out-shot the Wings 27-13.
