Avalanche Bantam A rolls in Dubuque

MONROE - The Avalanche Bantam A team defeated the Jr. Saints Bantam A team 8-2 Sunday in Dubuque.

Travis Edmunds scored four of the Avalanche's goals. Hayden Roth added two while Anika Einbeck and Cade Janecke each had one goal, and Janecke earned a playmaker. Also earning assists were Tessa Janecke (2), Anika Einbeck, Haley Knauf, Travis Edmunds (2), Luke Kuberski (2) and Payton Stauffacher. The Avalanche outshot the Jr. Saints 41-13.

Later Sunday afternoon, the Avalanche didn't fare as well against a bigger Sauk Prairie team and were shut out 8-0. Goalie Heath Bear recorded 33 saves.

On Saturday, the Avalanche Bantam A lost 6-1 to Sun Prairie A. Kuberski scored the only goal on an assist by Cade Janecke. Bear had 25 saves.



Squirt B WinS Two

Last weekend, the Avalanche Squirt B team added two more wins to its record and is now 5-2.

On Saturday morning, the Squirt B team rolled to a 12-0 win over the Wisconsin Dells B team, which used a few of the older Avalanche Red Mites so a game could be played. For the Avalanche, Cash Anderson had one goal and one assist; Xander Obert earned a hat trick (three goals) and two assists; Cameron Newcomer had one goal and one assist; Payton Hathaway had a goal; Dylan Lewis had a goal; Kyle Theorin had two goals; Carson Hurschner had two goals; Dominick Rath had an assist and Jack Rikkers scored two goals and earned one assist. Goaltender Carson Bulhozer had five saves in the shutout.

On Sunday, the Avalanche traveled to Reedsburg and skated to an 11-0 win. Avalanche goaltender Xander Obert didn't see much action on his end but ended with one save and earned his third shutout of the year.

The Avalanche take on the Patriots of Madison at home on Saturday and then travel to Sauk Prairie on Sunday.
